Day 7: Plyometric Cardio Circuit

Bottom line:  Believe it or not, I'm still sore from the barre workouts the other day, and I was not feeling Insanity today. I pushed through and did it anyway. On one hand, my speed and endurance are improving, but on the other, these improvements counteract what should be a lessening of the difficulty because I simply push myself harder.

This was one of those Mondays that feel like they should be Thursdays, but then you realize you still have the whole week ahead of you. Needless to say, I was not feeling the workout, and I almost did a weight training workout instead of this one. I feel good now, of course, but the tiredness did affect my performance: I could only do 35 consecutive pushups after the workout, although I did do 4 pullups, 4 chinups and 4 bicep pullups. Still, I think my speed in the Insanity drills is definitely improving.

Unbelievably, I'm still feeling sore from those barre workouts the other day! You know, the ones that I didn't even really feel? It makes me wonder if "feel" to me now means "end up in serious pain. In fact, I am so impressed by these enduring DOMS that I ordered myself a ballet barre so I can seriously start a barre rotation. On the menu for tomorrow, possibly, is Tracy Effinger's Squeeze Stronger, which is supposed to be one of the more torturous barre workouts out there.

I was looking at old pictures from back when all I used to do was run, and man, I'm so much leaner now. I've always been thin, but I've never had this kind of muscle tone before. I should really post before and after pictures… and maybe a post-Insanity picture as well. I may just be imagining things, but I think I'm getting even leaner.
